Rihanna Singer's education foundation is helping poor schools in Malawi...
The Clara Lionel Foundation hopes to solve some of the challenges facing education in the country.
Pop singer, Rihanna, has taken her Clara Lionel Foundation to Malawi in order to improve the quality of education in the country.
The organisation, whose main goal is to improve access to quality education and health all over the world did this in partnership with Global Citizen, a group also committed to bringing help to the needy.
Together, the formation visited the Muzu Primary School, an education facility situated in a remote part of Malawi where kids have to travel long distances to learn.
In addition to this challenge, there is the issue of poor infrastructure which means the pupils have to sit on the floor daily to listen to their teachers.
Rihanna was able to have a discussion with representatives from the country's education ministry where she presented her agenda to promote better learning conditions for the challenged pupils.
Wongani Nyirenda, a 14-year-old student who learns at Muzu Primary School talked about some of the issues faced by teachers and his colleagues which include insufficient instructional materials such as book and chalks.
Despite the high poverty currently existing in his community, Nyirende is convinced that the future still hold great promises.
Thanks to Rihanna's initiative, such optimism can actually come to a realization soon as the personnel holding key roles commence their work.
A video documentary of the singer's visit to the community school saw her share fun moments with the pupils who got into various sporting activities.
In all, great memories worth being treasured were created, while a new breath of hope can now be inhaled in Muzu.
